Our LARE students, past and present, joined us with their families on Good Friday to share in our annual Easter Celebration. We had snacks, decorations galore, sweet treats for each of the little ones, and gifts for all of the kiddos. But perhaps the most exciting part of the celebration was our visit from the Easter Bunny himself.
Our LARE Colleagues were happy to bring the WOW! Magic and create the special day for their Students. And our Students were happy to share their LARE family with their own families.
Araliz Caraballo, a medical assisting student said her daughter was thrilled to visit mom’s school. “She sees me do it every day and she’s excited to be a part of it.”
Julissa Millares, another student, said her daughter felt proud. “I’m showing her that I’m continuing my education. I feel really accomplished and proud.”
Check out a few photos from the day below.
Happy Easter!
Thank you, once again, to our friends from St. John’s Prep, who have been joining us every spring for their annual Day of Caring. Each year, for nearly ten years now, they’ve come to American Training to help with special projects. These projects have ranged from building accessible garden boxes at our residential homes to painting at our day programs, and everything in between.
This year, they joined us on March 24 to help with painting, yard work (and even built a shelf!) at a few of our Specialized Housing homes. And we were so thankful to have their help and company! They provided some great volunteer work and we provided delicious snacks and an ATI WOW! Magic water bottle for each of them, our small way of expressing our gratitude.
They left behind newly cleaned yards and freshly painted rooms which really made our Residents (and us) so happy and thankful.
“Today was a great day. The volunteers were really interested in American Training and they all said they would love to come back next year to help out again,” said residential manager Amy Fitzgerald.
“They were all so friendly and had no problem rolling up their sleeves and getting dirty,” added residential manager Sarah Mallett.
Check out pictures of them “rolling up their sleeves and getting dirty” at this year’s visit below and read more about their visit last year, when they built garden boxes, and how we’ve used them since here and here.
Thank you, St. John’s Prep!
Today we celebrated one of our favorite holidays, St. Patrick’s Day, with all of our favorite traditions. We ate corned beef and cabbage, sang, danced, and spent the day in great company, all in one of our favorite colors – green.
We enjoyed treats fit for a leprechaun and made sure to set out our homemade leprechaun traps in hopes of catching one of them with our gold, rainbows, and quick sand. We haven’t caught one yet but we are still hopeful!
Check out pictures from our WOW! Magic-filled day below then be sure to check out our posts on the history of St. Patrick’s Day traditions and recipes for the holiday.

As part of our Heart Health Month celebrations, which included our Free Blood Pressure Clinic, we held a Go Red! Day at all of our locations. Our ATI family pulled out their red shirts, sweaters, hats, scarves, and more to make February 19, our Go Red! Day a huge success. Our sea of red showed our support for all those battling heart health issues.
With heart disease and stroke as the number 1 and 4 killers of women in the U.S. each year, and number 1 and 5 killers of men, respectively, it’s important that we start spreading more information about heart health. Learn more about the facts and statistics on heart disease here. Then take a look at tips for healthy living and how you can get involved in spreading awareness.
Check out the photos from our Go Red! Day below! And check out last year’s event here.
Thank you to all who donated to this year’s Gifts From the Heart Campaign. You made this Valentine’s Day even more special by “Giving from the Heart” to some very special people here at American Training. 100% of the money raised through our Gifts from the Heart campaign directly benefited those we serve.
Let us tell you about just two of those people; Emil and John. They are two of our most personable and passionate Guests here at American Training. It has been so inspiring to have seen the progress and achievements each one has made over the years. From quiet, shy, very unassuming guys they are now actively involved in their communities and working at regular jobs. You would be as proud of them as we are if you knew the determination, persistence, and stick-to-itiveness they developed in order to become the very best they can be by making their lives more meaningful.
There are hundreds of people like Emil and John throughout our organization. And we are able to bring out the best in every one of them because of the work of our amazing and talented Colleagues and our WOW! Magic culture. Check out some of the great things we do here at American Training by visiting our Events Page or Blog.
Thank you for helping us continue teaching skills, building friendships, and making WOW! Magic Memories for a lifetime. All is made possible because of the generosity of people just like you.
Thank you to all who joined us Wednesday, February 17 to celebrate Healthy Hearts Month here at American Training in Andover! Our free blood pressure clinic was a great success! Our team of nurses provided blood pressure, heart rate and oxygen level checks. And our ATI team provided free snacks and goodies!
All who attended made moves to being heart healthy! The more you know, the more you’re in control! Great job taking control of your health by being proactive!

Dorian Murray, an 8-year-old boy battling a form of pediatric cancer, has just one simple wish…to become world famous! His custom hashtag has been popping up on billboards, websites, news channels, and social media across the country and globe. And today, we made him ATI famous!
We gathered together, at each of our locations, and created hundreds of #DStrong signs. We wore our boldest and brightest purples and golds, our official ATI colors and the colors of WOW! Magic. And we joined together in groups, sending all of our love, support and WOW! Magic Dorian’s way.
Dorian, we hope the WOW! Magic headed your way brightens your days. We hope it leaves a lasting, outrageously memorable impression on you. And we hope you feel the love we put into it. To us, you are more than famous, you’re inspiring! We all hope to be #DStrong!

In preparation for the big day, the playoff game between our New England Patriots and the Denver Broncos, we held a pep rally to send some WOW! Magic their way. We had food, fun, parades, an inspirational speech, and more! And we sent all the good luck we could their way!
They played and they played hard, but this year was not ours. The Denver Broncos will be heading to the Superbowl to face the Carolina Panthers.
But regardless of how the season ended, we have so much to be thankful for this year with our team. The Patriots gave us an excellent season, with some great players, and some real excitement all the way to the end. Here’s to an entertaining Superbowl this February and a better season ahead for our New England Patriots this fall.
Check out all of our pride below.
