Parents / Guardians

Right upfront we want you to know that we consider ourselves "family" here at American Training. And as such, the safety and well-being of your loved one is our foremost concern and priority.

If you have a child, loved one, or perhaps, you are the Guardian for someone in need of specialized services for adults with developmental disabilities, American Training is here to help.

We can offer that special someone a variety of services in a safe, caring and fun environment. From Individual and Group Employment services, Day Habilitation services and Community Based Day Supports, our services are very individualized and are designed to meet the needs of each individual Guest.

Our comprehensive employment services include assessments, skills training, job placement and on-going job coach support in both individual and group employment. We have trained Job Coaches and Job Developers with a proven record of successful job placements.

If you are looking for other options, we offer a variety of community and recreational activities such as going bowling, visiting parks, eating out at restaurants, studying at museums, taking part in volunteer opportunities, shaping up with YMCA memberships for fitness, enjoying walking groups as well as a number of other options available in local communities.

We also offer skill groups in the areas of cooking, nutrition, fitness/exercise, reading, sensory integration, money skills of all levels, crafts, self-advocacy, hygiene and better communication.

Our Colleagues must pass a Criminal Background Check and complete required trainings in the areas of First Aid/ CPR, OSHA, Developmental and other Disabilities, Positive Behavioral Supports and other training specific to job requirements. We continually offer training to ensure that our Colleagues are well prepared to provide the best services possible to your loved ones.

Our ultimate goal is to make your loved one′s life the most meaningful we can by identifying and bringing out their best.
