January was National Hot Tea Month, and in an effort to celebrate, our Specialized Housing team hosted a tea party at one of our residential homes, Mass Ave.
It was a pretty fancy affair, as we sipped from china teacups and nibbled on dainty tea sandwiches. With over 20 types of tea to choose from, many of us tried multiple flavors. Some sweet, some spicy, some herbal, some highly caffeinated; there was a type of tea for everyone.
New ISS member, David M. gave us a history lesson about the spread of tea culture around the world. And our Mass Ave. Colleagues increased our knowledge with a presentation on the varieties of tea and the importance of tea in daily life of people all over the globe.
We played some really fun games and learned even more about tea. Everyone went home with a prize. This event was such a success that we are hoping to host another tea party in the Spring. Check out photos of the sophisticated fun below.
