Residential Options, located in historic
Newburyport, Haverhill, Methuen and North Andover, develops
supported living situations, which empower people to be self-sufficient,
self-determining and enrich the quality of these lives. Supports
are flexible and are provided in ways that create successful
community living. With uniquely designed living situations,
based upon individual needs, desires and competencies. Opportunities
are sought to promote community awareness, acceptance and
involvement for individuals serviced. Emphasis is placed on
assisting individuals on issues such as money management,
daily living skills and trends in the community to improve
individual image. The option of choice for consumers is actively
sought in all aspects of life including: location of residence,
personal possessions, and activities.

Choices in Living
Choices In Living, located in Lowell, is
designed to assist persons with psychiatric disabilities obtain
the most independent living situation possible. Services help
individuals with accessing community resources based on individualized
needs.
The goal of the program is to support individuals
to be productive and successful members of the community by
utilizing public housing subsidies and other available supports
to obtain their own apartments. Specialized services assist
people in reaching personal goals and deal with everyday coping
skills one can pursue or continue employment and/or education
as well as independent lifestyle. Services may include the
following based on individual needs: community living skills,
self-preservation, academics, money management including rep-payee
services, social recreational services, and a medication administration
program.

Highfields
Highfields is a highly structured, community
based, voluntary residential treatment program serving male
and female adolescent Guests
with emotional problems and/or mental illness. Our focus is
to teach, support and promote the development of skills in
emotionally troubled adolescents necessary for productive
independent adult living. The long-term goals of the program
are to reduce hospitalizations, foster independence, teach
coping skills to everyday stresses and emotional challenges
and transition our resident Guests
to their family or home or to a less structured environment.
Short-term goals are to develop self-esteem and positive peer
relationships.
